Simon Jones, Practice Manager
Simon joined Park Farm Medical Centre & Vernon Street Surgery in 2022 and has been in practice management since 2017. He works closely with the GP Partners to oversee all aspects of the practice. He previously worked as a Clinic Manager and Exercise Physiologist for Nuffield Health for 11 years and has a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science, along with a Masters level diploma in Physiology.
Simon is a Practice Manager representative for the Derby and Derbyshire Local Medical Committee (LMC). In his spare time he enjoys running, and these days he prefers watching rugby and coaching kids football, rather than causing more damage to his body by playing!
Amanda Thorp, Operations Manager
Originally from Yorkshire, Amanda qualified as a hairdresser in 1992 before moving to Derby in 1997 with her young family. She joined the practice in 2004 as a receptionist, choosing the role to help fit around family life. Since then, she has worked her way up to Operations Manager, a position she thoroughly enjoys.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys walking, climbing, and strength training, and is happiest spending quality time with her family.
