Travel Health Update

With the roll out of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme and the potential of travel restrictions easing, you may be starting to consider the possibility of foreign travel.

Please note that advice on whether travel may be legally permitted under current UK COVID-19 restrictions should be sourced from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) travel advice.

Travellers should check the FCDO website and their country-specific pages for the latest COVID-19 travel advisories which may include information on travel restrictions, quarantine or COVID-19 testing requirements.

If you are planning on travelling abroad and would like general travel health advice and travel vaccinations, please complete our online Travel Risk Assessment, ideally at least 8 weeks prior to travel.

Although we will do our best to provide you with travel health advice, it may not be possible to complete vaccination schedules if your form is received outside of this time period. If you are unable to access the internet, paper copies of the form can be obtained from the practice.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer you a certification of COVID-19 vaccination, a vaccination passport or a letter to prove that you have been vaccinated against COVID-19.  However, from 17 May 2021, you can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App. It is recommended that you register with the app before booking international travel.

If you do not have a smart phone and are planning travel to a country which requires COVID-19 vaccination, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your vaccination course.  It is expected that the letter may take up to 5 days to reach you.
