Dear Patients,
It is wonderful news that a vaccine has been approved by the MHRA and the vaccination program has started across the country.
At the time of writing this, we still do not have an indication of exactly when it will be available to our Patients. Arrangements are being made, logistics and staffing being the primary work going on across the Greater Derby Primary Care Network (GDPCN), of which we are member Practice. GDPCN are working with the rest of the city PCN’s to provide in conjunction with the CCG and other community providers.
The NHS has written a short explanation on how you will be contacted:
“When it is the right time people will receive an invitation to come forward
The first phase of the NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme has started. When it is the right time people will receive an invitation to come forward. This invitation will include all the information you will need to book appointments, including your NHS number. Please do not contact the NHS to get an appointment until you get this invitation. Information on the vaccine is available on the NHS.UK website.”
We know that you are anxious and are keen to be vaccinated, but please do not ask the Practice for an appointment just yet. We are being overwhelmed by the number of enquires and it is preventing us from helping the patients that need to get through on the telephones for their medical needs. We are unable to tell you when your group will be called until we get more information.
We have attached all the information we presently have in the form of pdf’s from the CCG, Public Health England and NHS England.
